What will you do? 

  • Prepare analyses, designs, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, presentations, and reports as required;
  • Develop and strengthen existing skills and deliver projects in accordance with client requirements and in line with company and industry best practice;
  • Undertake internal technical reviews and verification checks on analysis, reports, designs and associated advice;
  • Lead the consultant team through the design and permit document phase to ensure efficiency, comprehensiveness, adherence to Dymon design standards and best practices
  • Carry out project management, contract administration and field reviews for projects under construction;
  • Ensure that projects meet quality assurance requirements
  • Ensure timely regular and clear reporting of project status to stakeholders, and that critical project records and documentation is kept;
  • Provide clear communication to project personnel including clearly assigned task briefs;
  • Carefully manage project risk and clearly understand and work with general contractor to determine where specific risks are best owned;
  • Monitor project finances and work with the Vice President, Construction to adjust activities and methodologies as required to achieve expected profitability targets;
  • Reflect on project learnings and experience to improve and promote lessons learnt to the other office staff;
  • Maintain the DYMON brand through service through project delivery, strong communication with stakeholders, and acting feedback;
  • Build effective networks and working relationships with key stakeholders

Who are you? 

  • College diploma or university degree in a construction-related field such as building science, construction management or civil engineering.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation (preferred).
  • 5 to 10 years’ experience managing medium to large sized commercial/industrial construction projects.
  • Training in Occupational Health and Safety at the supervisory level.
  • Thorough understanding of the construction process and industry best practices.
  • Proven ability to lead a project team (consultants, external service providers, contractors, internal stakeholders, etc.) in a collaborative and effective manner
  • Ability to manage employees and develop good working relationships with trades and suppliers.
  • Ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products and Microsoft Project.
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s license
